GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION for Let’s Go Crazy, 2024 Quilt Show
- Limit of three (3) quilts per entrant. All entries will be juried and judged, unless specified otherwise.
- Each entry must be entered in ONE category
Large Bed Quilt (more than 300” perimeter), SOLO, any technique
Large Bed Quilt (more than 300” perimeter), COMBINED - product of 2 or more persons, any technique
Small Bed Quilt (up to 299” perimeter), SOLO, any technique
Small Bed Quilt (up to 299” perimeter), COMBINED, any technique
Large Wall Quilt, SOLO, (more than 200” perimeter), any technique, intended to be displayed on a wall
Large Wall Quilt, COMBINED (more than 200” perimeter), - product of 2 or more persons, any technique, intended to be displayed on a wall
Small Wall Quilt, SOLO, (up to 199” perimeter), any technique, intended to be displayed on a wall
Small Wall Quilt, COMBINED - (up to 199” perimeter), product of 2 or more persons, any technique, intended to be displayed on a wall
Modern, any size - The quilt may include, but is not limited to, the use of bold / solid colors, improvisational piecing, minimalism, expansive negative space and alternate grid work using modern quilting techniques.
Art / Innovative, any size - The quilt is non-traditional in construction or design such as the use of painting, photo transfer, significant amounts of embellishments, or unusual material. Not subject to traditional quilting techniques.
Creative youth - Any quilt made by a youth 18 years or younger.
Theme/Let’s Go Crazy: This is a stand-alone category. Quilts in this category may not be entered in any other category. Quilts in this category may be fully traditional crazy quilt or a modification, reinterpretation or update of crazy quilting. All styles welcome. Quilts in this category may be quilted or tied. Judge will receive special instructions for this category. Based on entries received, this category may be sub-divided. - All entries must be quilted, except quilts in the Theme/Crazy and Art/Innovative categories. A quilted entry consists of three layers: a fabric top; a layer of batting or other material, and a backing, either hand or machine stitched through all three layers throughout the entry. Do not submit tied entries or entries constructed entirely in two layers techniques (such as Cathedral Window).
- All entries must have been completed within the last 5 years - between 2019 - 2024. Quilts entered in previous NPQG shows will not be considered.
- All entry applications must be received no later than March 20, 2024. Applications received after that date will be returned unopened. Mail early.
- All entries must be clean and free from animal hair or smoke odor. A 4” hanging sleeve must be sewn on the quilt. A cloth label with the name and address of the entrant must be sewn on the back left hand corner.
- Shipping costs to and from the show are the responsibility of the entrant. Quilt drop off details will be included in your acceptance notification.
- NPQG reserves the right to re-assign any entry or to eliminate a category.
- Entry fees will not be returned. NPQG reserves the right to reject any entry at show time if we find the rules were not followed.
- Security will be provided 24 hours a day during the show. Insurance during the show will be provided by NPQG. Large quilts valued at more than $500 and small quilts valued at more than $100 required an attached written appraisal. In addition to NPQG show insurance coverage, you should check with your insurance agent to make sure that your quilt is covered under your homeowners’ policy while on display. Some companies require a temporary rider on the policy and others cover it while away from home for short periods of time.
- Sale inquiries about your quilt will be given to you when your quilt is returned to you on Sunday.
- Show hours: Friday 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday 10 am - 5 pm, Sunday, Noon - 4 pm. Admission is $10.00.
Entries made or quilted by winners of National awards will not be eligible for “Best Of” ribbons.
